29-30th of November 2006
On 29-30th of November, 2006, Mrs. Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, took part in the First International Conference "Kazakh Grain Forum - 2006" in Astana city, Kazakhstan. On 30th of November Mrs. Aminat Suleymanova made a presentation on "useful legal aspects of international grain trade".
Organizers of the conference were "Kazagromarketing" and IA "APK-Inform" under official support of Ministry of Agriculture of Republic of Kazakhstan. About 400 participants from 230 companies representing 30 countries took part in the forum.

21st of November 2006
On November 21st, 2006, in London (United Kingdom) a one-day Grade 3 Payment Terms Training Course was held by Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).AGA Partners' Senior Associate Elena Balbekova participated in the GAFTA Training Course. The course covered among others such topics as GAFTA's Payment Clause (parties' duties and responsibilities), unpaid sellers rights in respect of goods in transit, GAFTA's Insolvency Clause and relevant legislation, Letters of Credit (insolvency of issuing /confirming bank, dealing with Transferred Letters of Credit, fraud and suspected fraud, performance bonds and guarantees).

AGA Partners joins Global Grain 2006
On October 4-6th, 2006, in Geneva, Switzerland, there was held Global Grain 2006, an event which is central to the grain industry and brings to Geneva every year the key players of the world grain market, including leading grain traders, bankers, surveyors, lawyers, international organizations and associations. This year AGA Partners was represented by Ivanna Dorichenko, our Senior Associate and the Head of our International Trade practice division.

12th of September 2006
On 12th of September, 2006, Mrs. Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, took part in XII International Conference "Grain and oil-bearing crops markets in 2006-2007", which was organized by Russian Grain Union (RGU).
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russian Federation Igor Rudenya, the President of RGU Arkadiy Zlotchevskiy and others took part in this event. Altogether there were about 130 participants - representatives of the companies of 12 states. In the course of this conference issues of current situation and developing of grain and oil-bearing crops markets in 2006-2007 were discussed as well as key tendencies and priorities of state regulation in the field.

11 - 13th of September 2006
On 11-13th of September, 2006, a three-day Grade 2 Contracts, Sampling and Shipping Training Course was held by Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) in Istanbul, Turkey. Ivanna Dorichenko, our Senior Associate, participated in the course, which covered various aspects of international commercial contracts, shipping requirements, payment terms, carriage of goods by sea, marine insurance, alternative dispute resolution.

On 7th of September, 2006 Joint sitting of the International Law Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) and the Committee on executive procedure & bankruptcy (UBA) "Non-standard ways out of the bankruptcy impasse" took place.
Principal issues, which participants of the meeting discussed, were: Ukrainian courts practice in bankruptcy cases, mechanisms of rights protection of both creditors and debtors during bankruptcy procedure in Ukraine, status of Trustee in Bankruptcy, international experience, possibilities of applying Convention regulations for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms for the international protection of own rights violated during bankruptcy procedure, rights protection of the creditors from non-execution of the court decision, protection of rights of the debtors from unlawful actions of the trustee in bankruptcy. Main organizers and speakers of the event were: Aminat Suleymanova, Head of the International Law Committee of UBA and managing partner of AGA Partners, Vitaliy Titich, Head of the Committee on executive procedure & bankruptcy of UBA and managing partner of Lawyers Union Vitaliy Titich and Parners, Aleksey Murav'ev, judge of the Supreme Commercial Court of Ukraine, Elena Balbekova, senior associate of AGA Partners and Alexander Biryukov, Head of the Non-governmental Organization "Ukrainian bankruptcy institute".

Mrs. Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, was elected the Head of the Kiev Branch, Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA).
The Ukrainian Bar Association is an all-Ukrainian public organization of legal professionals in all fields of juridical profession aimed at defending justice and improvement of Ukrainian legislation, enhancement of lawyers' professional growth and advancement of legal awareness of public. UBA was founded in November 2002. Its goal is to unite dynamic and ambitious professionals in their effort to protect democracy in the Ukraine as well as to encourage lawyers' informal networking. The association is one of the most dynamically developing professional organizations of legal professionals.

25th of May 2006
On 25th of May, 2006, AGA Partners Senior Associate Elena Balbekova has successfully passed the bar examination by the Kiev city board of experts/disciplinary committee. On the basis of the resolution issued by the board of experts/disciplinary committee of 25.05.2006 N32-3-30 Elena Balbekova obtained a Certificate on the right to practice the advocacy N2562 in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the advocacy".

AGA Partners - a speaker at the International Grain Forum
As one of the major events of international "Grain Week" in Ukraine organized by APK-Inform Agency, 5th International conference "Grain Forum" (Kiev - Yalta - Sevastopol) welcomed 230 participants from 19 countries. The second session of the conference held in Kiev on May 18, was moderated by Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, whereas Ivanna Dorichenko, our Senior Associate, presented a paper on useful legal recommendations for drafting and executing international trade contracts, which received very positive feedback form the conference participants.

On April 10-12th, 2006, in Rostov-on-Don (Russia) a three-day Grade 2 Contracts, Sampling and Shipping Issues Training Course was held by Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).AGA Partners' Senior Associate Elena Balbekova participated in the GAFTA Training course. The course covered among others such topics as negotiation of trade and introduction to contracts, warranties and guarantees, payment, insurance, shipping documents, carriage and international trade relationship, dispute resolution.

Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, took part in the First International Grain Trade Summit: CIS – Arabian world in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt.
The goals of the Summit were rise of competitiveness of Russian and Ukrainian companies at the North Africa and Middle East Markets; creation of more favorable agricultural products trade conditions among these regions; receipt of the market information on the issues of international agricultural products trade among the regions North Africa - Middle East and Russia, Ukraine; discussion of problematic issues of agricultural products trade among the countries of North Africa and Middle East and Russia and Ukraine, searching ways of the existing problem’s solution; establishment of the international business relations, meeting with business partners.

Ukrainian Law Firms (A Handbook for Foreign Clients) 2005 edition, has included Aminat Suleymanova, managing partner of AGA Partners, in the grade of five leading lawyers at the Ukrainian market in area of International arbitration.

Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, for the second year in a row took the floor as a judge in the national round of the Ben Telders Contest on judicial debate in international law.
The Contest has the highest rating among the international law contests for law students of European universities; it is the moot court. The supervisors of the Contest are UNO International Court, Iran-American complaints examination Tribunal and European Parliament. The winner of the Contest is the team of Kiev International University. It will represent Ukraine at the international round of the Contest.

Aminat Suleymanova, the Managing Partner of AGA Partners, took the floor as a judge in the national round of the Philip Jessup Contest on judicial debate in international public law.
This Contest for law students of international public law is carried out according to the Statute and procedure of UNO International court. The Philip Jessup Contest, established in 1959 by International Law Students Association (ILSA), is the world biggest Contest on public law. According to its rules the team, which has taken the first place in the national round, represents its country in the international competition, carried out in March – April annually in Washington (USA). More than 1600 students from more than 300 law schools, representing more than 80 countries from five continents. The team of economics – law faculty of Donetsk National University took the first place in the National round of Philip Jessup public law Contest and became a national champion. This team will represent Ukraine in the final of the Contest in Washington (USA).
